Passover or Pesach is the first of seven appointed feasts of the L-rd, ordained by the L-rd, to commemorate the departure of the Hebrew nation from Egypt.

As commanded in the Torah,

“You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. And they shall not appear before Me empty handed.” Exodus 2315

The Torah, the first five books of Moses, is the written word of G-d, and the instructions and rituals for the holidays were passed down in the oral law.

Every year in the spring, Jews around the world will prepare a seder as a memorial to the original Passover event, and in the same prescribed order given at Mt. Sinai over 3,000 years ago. It is important to G-d that the teachings and history of the Jewish people be preserved and passed down to all generations.

As we read through the Haggadah, you will notice the introduction of a dash in the spellings of G-d and L-rd. According to Jewish law and tradition, it was forbidden to erase or discard any written document with the names of our Creator, or even speak His Hebrew name Yod He Vav He. The word Jehovah is used by Christians to pronounce the four letters of the tetragrammaton, and the name Adonai is substituted when reading the Holy Scriptures or Torah. The true pronunciation of His Name has been lost. With great respect, we will reverence His holy name by continuing this tradition.

The symbolism in the seder meal will remind us that G-d remembered His people in bondage and He had a plan for their deliverance.

I was looking for a slimmed down haggadah that kept true to the root of Passover. I more than found it with this gem! The illustrations are actual art. Simple and beautiful. No photo images in here, which I adore. The book was well made and even better thought out. We are part of a Messianic congregation with most of us coming out of Christianity. While we know and understand the Father through Torah, we struggled with how to explain Yeshua throughout the Passover celebration. I found this book explained it very well. It kept true to both old and new. A modern enough take for people who still love the old ways. As more people return to true worship while still holding an understanding of Messiah, we need more resources like these. There is Hebrew but not so much that you cannot follow along in English (or beginner Hebrew :)), and transliteration. It reads like a Hebrew book. This will make for a moderate length seder, but I would think not more than an hour. Absolutely beautiful. I am very happy to recommend this book to anyone.

Passover Haggadah for Christians and Jews Margo Leitz 9780692613177 Books Reviews

We used this Passover Haggadah (pre-publishing) with our kids and friends last year. The instructions are clear and the reasoning behind everything you do helps make the time much more meaningful. Our kids enjoyed it and were happy to be able to participate with the adults without feeling bored. We will definitely use it again this year!
Wow! This Passover Haggadah is great! It's contemporary looking but still traditional- It's printed in reverse, from left to right, keeps the traditional order and includes the hebrew and translations for all the prayers. I checked out http//doaseder.com to get a better feel of the inside pages and what I was getting. As you can see, the images are fabulous! They aren't clipart or computer designed…but hand drawn, colorful and contemporary looking. Passover is actually really relevant for ourselves and families, and I think every Christian family and church should adopt a Passover Haggadah to learn more about Jewish tradition, Jesus’ last meal and to become more familiar with the perfect analogy of the story of redemption. Families who have never taken the courageous step to put on their own seder (Passover meal), wait no further, this is the perfect guide. It is biblically based with new and old testament references telling the full story. It’s not too long and it answers the questions most Haggadah’s leave out. If you’re looking for a fresh, edgy Haggadah that stays true to the history and biblical teaching, this is the Haggadah for you.
Content was good but the books fell apart -both of them-during our Passover meal.
Love the illustrations!
This book is a gem. This haggadah will walk you through a traditional passover meal, with a bridge from the Old to New Testatments. Beautifully illustrated, and rich in revelation to those of the Christian or Jewish faith.
I waked to do a passover meal with my family for the Easter holiday. This was the perfect book with a lot of information and tips for the family to learn more about this celebration. It was a great experience.
What a surprise this book was! Short, to the point and full of helpful illustrations about the meaning and purpose of the Seder in Jewish and Christian tradition. I have always wanted to better understand the connection behind the stories of the New Restatement and my Christian faith with the sometimes alien world of the Jewish faith. This little book does a great job of bridging the two worlds, bringing meaning to our Christian faith with the rich history of the Jewish tradition. New testament passages and the rituals described by Jesus and Paul are aptly explained and put in the historical and biblical context of the Jewish tradition and Word of God. So helpful and can't wait for the next Passover to come to emphasize this new understanding with my wider family and friends!
