The only reason I'm giving this book 2 stars is because I finished it. I was hoping for a happy ending whereby, all of the central characters would die. This was a stupid pointless story with every cliche imaginable. A beautiful brilliant sex goddess has a tawdry affair with an Adonis like OBGYN. Sharon the sex goddess writes an inappropriate letter to her daughter on her 18th birthday, giving the young lady a blow by blow (pun intended) description of her 3 year sexcapade leading to her conception and birth. The scorned wife is the complete antithesis of the sex goddess. She was an obese, ugly, stupid shrew. Was that the author's attempt at justifying this affair? All of the sex goddess's friends were either having affairs and or complicit in enabling Sharon's affair with Sloan. The author tried to make this affair a love story. It wasn't. It was a disgusting affair. There is nothing loving about cheating and playing around. It's easy to think you're in love when the sex is hot, but all it is is sex. There is nothing sexy about children, bills, illnesses, work, house cleaning etc. I totally didn't get the letter to the daughter. What child, no matter how old he or she may be wants, a detailed description of their parent's sex lives? EEECH, that is plain creepy. I'll bet Sloan and Sharon never farted in bed or picked their noses in front of each other. And, Sharon never got to see the skid marks in her lover's under ware because his wife did his dirty laundry.

Pinnacle Lust edition by Michelle DimSt Pierre Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

2 stars for the quality of writing. Read this for book club. Some steamy sex scenes. A very light read, and a page-turner, but an abrupt poorly fashioned ending clearly indicates the author plans a sequel.
Had hoped to get engrossed in a good romance, but instead found a poorly written, simplistic, lengthy description of an affair with a married man. Nothing unique.
I was hesitant to read this book for some time because of the title, thinking it would end up as another predictable romance. I was glad I finally did get over my hesitation as I found that this is one of the more realistic novels I read (including the intimate sex scenes). You feel right along with the characters. The ending suggests a second book. Hopefully the author is working on it. Can't wait. Definitely don't miss reading this book.
One of the worst books I have ever read!! Would NOT recommend it to anyone. Bad plot. Did not follow at all the manner in which it was supposed to be written.
Although this isn't the genre I usually read, I enjoyed this novel immensely. Very good character development, although I came to dislike a few of them. At times I wanted to grab Sharon and scream at her to use her good sense. Sharon is a beautiful woman but a woman with flaws. I felt that she was a real person and not a fictional character. Well done Michelle!
It could have been a traditional, clichéd doctor and nurse love story, but Dim-St. Pierre delivers a raw, gritty, very real tale of love and betrayal. The story will challenge your moral compass as she takes you on a bumpy ride of lust and love.

The story begins as Leigh is given her mother’s journals detailing her final years in Israel as a young nurse during Operation Desert Storm. She learns her mother’s story of her illicit affair with a married doctor which captures her heart for a lifetime. Through the story she gets to know her mother in a different light and discovers her own origins aren’t what she thought they were.

It’s a story about the enduring qualities of love and the resilience of the human spirit. This is so much more than a love story. It’s a view into another culture during wartime. It’s a snippet of life so raw and real you’ll think you are there with her, living her joy and her pain. Dim-St. Pierre delivers an exciting adventure you don’t want to miss.
Readers will enjoy Pinnacle Lust, a first novel by Michelle Dim-St. Pierre, which is set in Tel Aviv, Israel in the 90s. I was drawn to the novel because of its setting (Israel) and the war background. Pinnacle Lust reminded me of the film, Love is a Many-Splendored Thing, which captivated women's hearts in the 50s. (This book would also make a great screenplay! Are you paying attention, Hollywood?) The writing is best when it is straightforward. The author is less effective when she uses commonplace phrases and analogies. The beginning and ending need work, as some previous reviewers mentioned, but some attention should be given to the daughter's thoughts as she reads her mother's diaries so we don't forget her but also so we see how she is taking all this in. Would it perhaps explain some of her mother's comments to her over the years, or her mother's puzzling behaviors? Really, this is a book that moves between the past and the present, as it should, with the future left hanging at the end. I don't see this as having a sequel or being a trilogy. This author has created fine characters and can do so again in a new work. We need more writing that is set in modern day Israel. More descriptions of streets, houses, the sea would add to the work. The business of nursing, following the main character's occupation, adds a lot to the book and is all very interesting. Best of luck to a new author!
